Tickets for the Soundclash on Friday, September 27th and Reggae Rumble on the 28th are now availble for only 20 EUR, please write a message through our contact form if you would like to buy one. If you only need a ticket for friday night, you can get it through the YAAM Ticketshop. Capacity is quite limited this year. We highly recommend to buy tickets in advance to avoid the disappointment of not being allowed in.

You can also buy a screenprint of the artwork by Chema Skandal for 25 EUR. The prints will be limited to 30 copies, only 20 of these will be available in Europe. They come handnumbered and signed by the artist in the size of 18 x 24″ (457 x 610 mm).

UPDATE: The prints are sold out! Tickets are still available, don’t sleep on these.

Get un Up! 11.5.19 - Margarete F.

We wouldn’t really call the tiny boxes hanging in the backroom of this bar a ‘proper sound’ but we’re a soundsystem, so our standards a somewhat high. The lineup is great and the bar well equipped so it will probably be a great night anyway. If you’re somewhere in the south of Germany that weekend you should catch up with our Rhythm Ruler at Reggae Hit The Town München.

Dresden is not far from Berlin and definitely worth the trip on thWine and Grine April 2019e 27th of April. Two of our selectors will play their records at Ostpol, a cosy venue with a proper PA and a nice dancefloor. Join them for a night of jamaican vintage sounds at Wine and Grine.

After the success of last year’s soundclash we’re running another one this year. Better save the date and book your flights soon. We’ll make it a weekender with an allnighter on saturday, so will be worth the travels. More info soon.

The list of musicians and singers involved in this project is simply incredible: Ken Boothe, Cedric Myton, Winston McAnuff, Robbie Lynn… We can’t wait for the summer, this is one of the reasons. Save the date!

UPDATE: Summer has arrived and some great news too. The Lineup is confirmed and Horace Andy will join the singers and musicians mentioned above. The venue is quite big but better be safe than sorry and get yourself a ticket in advance.

We’re glad to announce that our Rhythm Ruler will play records for the warmup and some after show drinks in the beergarden.

UPDATE2: Find some pictures of the show at reggaeinberlin.com

We love this short teaser by the man from Hamburg and look forward to a great night at the Maratone Rocksteady Club on saturday at Privatclub. See you on the dancefloor!

dangerous dynamite nov 18The Old Fashioned Rudeboys & Big B invited two excellent local selectors for their Dangerous Dynamite Party in a basement of Berlin Friedrichshain. BossK will barely fit under the low ceiling but for sure play some great tunes as you know from his monthly do, the ReggaeXplosion. Eastwood is rarely seen behind the decks these days and although he is lately more know as a seller of jamaican oldies on original vinyl, but he still owns an impressive collection and will draw some hot stuff.

Flyer Slackers Aftershowparty at WowsvilleOne of the most active contemporary bands influenced by jamaican music will be back on the stage of SO36.

The band’s musical style is distinct from their contempories; a mix of early Jamaican music with classic 50’s and 60s American styles. There are influences from 50s and 60s Rock’n’Roll, Rythmn and Blues, Jazz and Latin music. Singer Vic Ruggiero has coined the term ‘Jamaican Rock’nRoll.’ to describe it. He says, “The band might play a classic Jamaican style but the vocals are distinctly American east coast, revealing the obvious connection of Jamaican music to the Doo-Wop of Harlem and the Bronx.” Source: http://www.theslackers.com

2,5 years ago Jeremy aka. Scratch Famous was our guest for the Rock Steady Ballroom and played some great original tunes from the 60s. He’ll bring a slightly different bag with more 80s Reggae and Rub-a-dub for the Vintage Night and we’re sure it will be a great dance. Panza and Barney Millah will join him on the decks.
