The last time we did string up the Maratone Soundsystem at Privatclub for Lone Ranger and Tonto Addi the vibe was more like a 70’s & 80’s Rub A Dub / Early Digital party. But as usual at the Rocksteady Club we go a bit further down memory lane, until the sweet 60’s. Once again it’s all about the finest Ska, Rock Steady and Early Reggae, played from precious original vinyl. This time finally Panza will be with us again as he his activities with Supersonic Sound didn’t allow him to join us for the last sessions. And once again we bring in an international guest:Vienna was called and Rayna from Treasure Isle Sound answered. He is one of the busiest DJs and Promoters when it comes to jamaican oldies events in Vienna. Rayna started collecting records since the age of 16 and did promote lots of events with great artists like Alton Ellis and Dennis Alcapone. Let’s hope he will also bring a few of the famous Treasure Isle dubplate specials with him beside his favourite tunes from his record collection. And now: „Wake the town and tell the people about this musical pleasure coming your way“

Knowing the famous Ska tune by Prince Buster you might expect the Prince of Peace coming from another geographic direction but he’ll come from the south, Munich to be exact. He is one of the organisers behind Reggae Hit The Town down there and providing the only quality jamaican oldies dance in town. He got in touch with the beautiful sound of young jamaica through Dancehall and modern Reggae and is an enthusiastic collector since a longer stay in London where he dived into the scene in 2015. For the second edition of the Maratone Rocksteady Club a DJ-Team from Sweden will play their Berlin premiere. Sure Shots consists of the DJ-duo Vitaliy & Johan which during the year 2014 got the idea of starting their own event in Södermalm in Stockholm. For a number of years, they had been collecting records individually and it was a mutual understanding that Stockholm was in need of an alternative to exisiting Reggae Clubs in town. Busy dancefloors and invitations to dances abroad proved them right!
Until the 25th of November the Sure Shots boys send their regards and promise fulfilling their motto: ‘We’re guaranteed to hit all your soft spots, playing exclusively Jamaican Sure Shots!‘

For more than four years, the Maratone Soundsystem was organizing the Rock Steady Ballroom, a popular dance for jamaican oldies lovers. The venue where it took place closed for the public this summer and a very busy farewell weekender made clear that there is demand for a party like this. So the guys running the soundsystem started looking for a suitable venue and are now happy to present a new dance in town at Privatclub in the lively and diverse neighbourhood of Berlin Kreuzberg.
