poster with bands for this is ska festival 2019For 23 years the This is Ska Festival brings many small, local and bigger international bands together, mostly headlined by some veteran jamaican singers. This year Ken Boothe and The Clarendonians can be found on stage, backed by one of the best sounding bands in Germany, The Magic Touch. Although the line-up is dominated by Two-Tone, Ska-Punk und 3rd-Wave-Ska we are sure a trip to Roßlau (a little town not far from Dessau – a city known to those interesed in Bauhaus design and architecture) is worth it. If you have seen Ken Booth with Inna de Yard already, it could be interesting to travel from Berlin for just the friday night. More about how to get there, camping, tickets (from 35 EUR) and general information can be found on the offical website.

UPDATE: As german authorities denied a visa for Peter Austin of the Clarendonians they can’t perform at the festival. As Ken Boothe didn’t sing many of his hits at the Inna de Yard show the saturday might be the better choice now if you only want to go for a day.
